Barclays Championship – (PGA Tour)

The Barclays Championship was held at Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus – Vijay Singh won The Barclays for a record fourth time Sunday using the following golf clubs: Cleveland HiBore XL driver and Adams a3 Boxer hybrids (16- and 19-degrees) in addition to Cleveland CG1 irons (4-PW) and CG12 wedges. Singh’s line-up of golf clubs was completed with a Never Compromise Milled Series Long putter.

Safeway Classic presented by Pepsi – (LPGA Tour)

The Safeway Classic was held at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. Cristie Kerr won the Safeway Classic on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff with Helen Alfredsson and Sophie Gustafson using the following golf clubs: Ping G10 driver, Callaway Big Bertha fairway woods (15, 18 and 21-degree). Kerr also used Callaway Steelhead X-16 irons (4-PW) and Cleveland 588 wedges (54- and 60-deg). Cristie opted for a Ping G5i Craz-E putter to finish on.

The KLM Open – (European Tour)

As the news spread, punters made a dash for their computers to get their bets in with their online sports books. Word was out that the financially troubled Weymouth Football Club was going to field their youth team against Rushden & Diamonds.

It’s being reported that more than £1 million was paid out after heavy betting action came in on Weymouth losing this match…and lose it they did. The rumour was in fact true and the home side cashed big tickets in one of the largest non-league football betting coups.

Silversea Cruises, a very, very exclusive Cruise Line has just launched a series of voyages of 34 to 123 days and is having its first around-the-world cruise in 2007.

And Crystal Cruises Inc. spokeswoman Mimi Weisband said that they saw a record number of bookings for this year’s 106-day world cruise.
